Description

Deliciously fruity and deep, the 2024 release of Highland Park 21 is crafted from just 48 casks—25 first-fill, sherry-seasoned American oak quarter casks, 15 refill butts and 8 first-fill, sherry-seasoned European hogsheads—all hand-selected and laid down in 2001 and 2002. By combining three different cask types, The Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion has created a superb single malt Scotch whisky with a natural deep copper colour direct from the cask that’s both satisfyingly rich and intriguingly complex.

The flavour

Layers upon complex layers of flavour. Creamy sweetness of crème brûlée on the nose with notes of cloudy honey and crumbled cinnamon. On the palate, apricot compote mingles with crushed almonds and lime zest. The finish has a lingering tang of smoked lemons and subtle smoke from our Orkney heathered peat.
