Silk and Spice Red
Silk and Spice is a tribute to the spice route created by Portuguese explorers who brought new flavours to the world. After alcoholic fermentation, the must is removed to separate the wine from the coarser sediments. It is then stored in stainless steel tanks until the day of bottling.
A ruby-coloured red wine blend, characterized by intense aromas of ripe red and black fruit, such as blackberries and ripe plum.
A spicy character evokes vanilla, black pepper, and pink peppercorn, combined with a hint of mocha. It is full-bodied with a balanced taste, very soft tannins, and a long balanced finish. Grapes: Touriga Nacional, Baga, Alicante Bouchet, and Syrah, the first three of which are native to Portugal.
This is a red blend of deep, rich layers, characterized by aromas of ripe red fruit with hints of vanilla, mocha, and spices. Indigenous Portuguese grape varieties – Touriga Nacional, Alicante Bouschet, and Baga – areused to make Silk & spices.
TASTING NOTES OF SILK AND SPICE RED
Deep, intense ruby colour with a bright red rim. The predominant flavours are ripe and cooked black fruit. Sweet notes of vanilla and nuances of mocha. The first impression in the mouth is rich and full. Excellent balance between tannins and acidity, with a long, smooth finish.
