Barrels.ng is an importer of wine in Nigeria. The taste of wine is determined by several quantities. Sugar and alcohol enhance a wine’s sweetness while acidity and tannins determine its sourness (dryness).
Sweet wine is made by halting the fermentation process so that there’s residual sugar present in the wine. This can be done by the addition of neutral grape spirits to a fermenting wine, thus raising the alcohol level to mortal levels for the yeast. Sweet wines made by this process are labeled fortified wines.
