Description
Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky is the first South African single grain whisky, made in Wellington at the James Sedgwick distillery.
Bain’s distinctive aromas and the delicate smooth flavor is a result of its unique provenance, climate, and ingredients. It is the only whisky in the world to use 100% sun-kissed South African grain in its uniquely warm location. The liquid is double matured; first aged for 3 years in first-fill bourbon casks and then for another two years in fresh first-fill bourbon casks
Bain’s has made an impressive debut in the UK, picking up a Gold Medal at the International Wine & Spirits Competition in 2010 and a Silver at the International Spirits Competition before crowning that with the title of World’s Best Grain Whisky at the World Whisky Awards.
Tasting Notes of Bain’s Cape Mountain Whisky
Bain’s innovative double maturation ensures maximum extraction of flavours from the oak cask. The result is an exceptionally smooth whisky with a rich, warm amber colour, a combination of toffee, floral notes and vanilla aromas and a hint of spice and oaky undertones that deliver an extended mouthfeel.
