Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost & Rare is a luxury, limited-edition blended Scotch whisky series that features rare whiskies from “ghost” (closed) distilleries, such as Brora and Glenury Royal, along with other exceptional aged malts and grains. This special release is known for its velvety smooth, complex flavor profile, which includes notes of fruit, honey, nuts, and smoke, appealing to whisky enthusiasts and collectors. 

The third offering in this limited-edition series, Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare Glenury Royal, draws on rare casks from the legendary Highland “ghost” distillery of Glenury Royal, a hidden treasure of the whisky world, which closed its doors in 1985.

The third in a series of special releases comes from the long closed “ghost” distillery of Glenury Royal. This whisky was created by blending the highly sought-after “ghost” whiskies from Cambus and Pittyvaich, with five incredibly rare malts from Glen Elgin, Inchgower, Glenlossie, Cameronbridge and Glenkinchie.

Tasting Notes of Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare

• Nose: 

  A sweet, rich aroma with notes of dried fruit (apricots, raisins), dark chocolate, vanilla, and sometimes honeycomb. 
• Palate: 

  A complex and layered experience, with flavors of creamy toffee, butterscotch, hazelnut, and rich dark chocolate, balanced by sweetness and some fruitiness. 
• Finish: 

  A smooth and lingering finish, often with hints of sweet fudge, peaches, and light wood spice.
