Description
The Nederburg Noble Late Harvest is an iconic, highly awarded South African dessert wine crafted in Paarl. Blended primarily from Chenin Blanc, Muscat de Frontignan, and sometimes Riesling, the grapes are left on the vine to develop “noble rot” (botrytis), yielding a rich, concentrated, and velvety sweet profile
Sweet seduction in liquid form, the wine starts with ginger blossom and jasmine, macerated dried apricots, sultanas and even marmalade – both on the nose and palate. Unctuous, audacious and bold, it is richly sweet but it manages not to be mawkish or cloyingly syrupy because of the lively, fresh, zingy acid which is a necessary counterpoint. The palate is composed, bright, lively, opulent and complex and yet it finishes dry and clean. All that remains is a remembered symphony of beautiful flavour which lingers long.
Taste Notes of Nederburg Noble Late Harvest
- Appearance: Brilliant yellow with striking hints of gold.
- Aroma: A bouquet of honey, ripe apricots, peach, orange marmalade, and subtle tropical notes.
- Palate: Unabashedly sweet (often with around 200 g/L residual sugar) but expertly balanced by crisp, natural acidity and a touch of citrus zest so it never feels cloying.
